COLUMBUS, Ohio – The 2005 NCAA Division I Men’s Ice Hockey Frozen Four will be held next week in Value City Arena at The Jerome Schottenstein Center in Columbus, Ohio. The tournament, which crowns the national champion, includes defending national champion Denver (30-9-2), Colorado College (31-8-3), Minnesota (28-14-1) and North Dakota (22-14-5). Each team won two games at its respective regional tournament to advance to the Frozen Four.
This marks the first time the tournament will be held on a campus site since North Dakota hosted the event in Grand Forks, N.D., in 1983. It is the second time the hockey championship will be decided in Ohio, as Cincinnati hosted the 1996 Frozen Four.
Tournament activities begin April 6 with practices that are open to the public for all four advancing teams. The semifinal games will be held at 2 and 7 p.m. April 7. The winning teams will have open practices April 8 and the 2005 NCAA champion will be decided at 7 p.m. April 9.
