Athletes of the Week – Ohio State Buckeyes

Junior women’s soccer forward Lisa Grubb was named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week Monday as she recorded two goals and one assist in Ohio State’s 4-1 season opening win over Indiana State Friday night at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium.

Football defensive end Simon Fraser, a junior from nearby Upper Arlington, led the Ohio State defense in holding Washington to nine points and 7 yards rushing Saturday to give the Buckeyes a 1-0 start in defense of the 2002 National Championship. Fraser was recognized for his efforts by being named the Big Ten’s Co-Defensive Player of the Week.
