COLUMBUS, Ohio: The kickoff time for Ohio State’s Sept. 6 home football game against San Diego State has been announced by the Big Ten. The Buckeyes and Aztecs will get underway at 12:10 p.m., EDT, in Ohio Stadium. The game will be televised by ESPN Plus.
This will be just the second meeting between the two schools. Ohio State won the initial contest, 27-12, in 2001 in Columbus. That game was moved from Sept. 15 to Oct. 20 as a result of the tragic events that took place on Sept. 11 of that year.
Starting times for five of Ohio State’s eight home games are now set. The defending national champion Buckeyes open the season by hosting Washington at 8 p.m., Aug. 30, in just the sixth night game in Ohio Stadium history. ABC also will televise the Sept. 13 game with North Carolina State (12:10 p.m.) and the Oct. 18 tilt with Iowa (3:30 p.m.). The Sept. 20 game with Bowling Green will kickoff at 12:10 p.m. and will be televised by ESPN Plus.
Kickoff times for the Northwestern (Sept. 27), Michigan State (Nov. 8) and Purdue (Nov. 15) games have not yet been announced.
