Athletes of the Week – Ohio State Buckeyes

Senior swimmer Nick Rees was named the Big Ten Male Swimmer of the Week after he was a triple-winner for the Buckeyes in a 130-70 win over Cleveland State. He won the 100-yard butterfly and was a part of the team’s wins in the 200-yard medley and 200 freestyle relay. The 2000 Olympian for the Bahamas has 11 first-place finishes and has not finished below second in a race this season. His season’s best of 48.92 in the 100 fly ties him for fourth nationally according to collegeswimming.com.

Women’s ice hockey senior defenseman Emily Hudak led the Buckeyes to a sweep of St. Cloud State at home with a team-high five points on the weekend. Hudak recorded three assists in OSU’s 6-0 shutout Saturday and tallied another two helpers in the Buckeyes’ 6-4 victory Sunday. She has recorded nine assists this season.
