Athletes of the Week – Ohio State Buckeyes

Men’s soccer sophomore goalkeeper Chad Brown was selected as the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week, the Big Ten announced Monday. Brown recorded four saves and smothered several Michigan State scoring opportunities in the 3-1 win over the Spartans Sunday. Brown is the third Buckeye to receive the honor this season. Brown, 6-3-0 on the season, now has 20 saves to go with four shutouts on the year. He has allowed just one goal in his last four games.
Chelsea Poling and Robyn Detty led the team women’s cross country team to a first-place finish in the Notre Dame Cross Country Invitational last week, the second time it has taken first in a meet this season. Poling finished seventh and Detty was ninth to pace the squad.
