Lamb Named Assistant Director of Athletics Communications – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Todd Lamb, a 1994 graduate of The Ohio State University, has been named assistant director of athletics communications at The Ohio State University, Steve Snapp, director of athletics communications, announced Monday.
The Marion, Ohio, native will work primarily with the Buckeyes’ baseball team and will serve as the editor of the football and men’s and women’s basketball game day programs. He will also work with several of the Buckeyes’ olympic sports programs.
“This really is a dream come true for me,” said Lamb. “From the moment I decided to enter this profession, I knew Ohio State was where I wanted to be. I am extremely grateful for this opportunity.”
Lamb comes to Ohio State after spending the last two years at Clemson University, where he was also an assistant sports information director. While with the Tigers, Lamb worked primarily with the nationally ranked baseball team, accompanying the Tigers to the 2000 College World Series. In addition, Lamb assisted with football and men’s basketball and was the publications coordinator for the three sports. Several of his publications have received recognition nationally.
Prior to his stint at Clemson, the 31-year-old Lamb was an assistant SID at Rice University in Houston. There he worked with the Owls’ men’s basketball and men’s golf teams in addition to his role as the content editor for the official athletic web site for Rice. Lamb was a secondary contact for the baseball team and also joined that team at the 1999 College World Series. He also worked briefly at The University of Texas at San Antonio.
Lamb, who holds a bachelor of arts degree in Journalism from Ohio State, is an active member in the College Sports Information Director of America and currently serves as chairman of the Computer Committee. He is also a member of the National Collegiate Baseball Writers and the United States Basketball Writers associations.
“We are very fortunate to have a person of Todd’s talent and enthusiasm join our staff,” said Snapp. “His credentials jumped out at all of us from the first minute we looked at his resume. With his wealth of experience, he will be able to handle a myriad of responsibilities. Additionally, as an Ohio State graduate, I know it is special for him to have the opportunity to contribute at his alma mater.”
Lamb, who will begin his new duties immediately, replaces Pat Chun who left the athleitcs communications office and now works in the athletic development office.
