%^$On a cold, blustery, fall-like day, the Ohio State football team passed the halfway point of spring practice Monday at the Woody Hayes Athletics Center.%^$
%^$”We threw a lot at them today, gave them a lot to look at in terms of some unbalanced things,” Coach Jim Tressel said. “We had three days off (Easter weekend), so we wanted to get them into it right away. Considering what they had to deal with and the weather conditions, I thought it was a pretty good workout.”%^$
%^$Tressel is not surprised that his defense had a little bit of an upper hand in Monday’s session.%^$
%^$”We are more mature on defense right now,” he said. “We are at the point, too, where the defense can really come after you. But we are getting better on offense. Some of our younger players, on both sides of the ball, are getting to the point where they are starting to just react. They are starting to figure things out and that excites them.”%^$
%^$Also, offensive tackle Ivan Douglas has been discharged from University Hospitals. Douglas, a sophomore from University Heights, O., was hospitalized the first week of practice with a blood clot in his lung.%^$
%^$The Buckeyes next practice is at 3:15 p.m. Wednesday.
