%^$For the second day in a row severe weather forced the Buckeyes inside at the Woody Hayes Athletics Center.%^$
%^$”We still had a good practice,” said OSU coach Jim Tressel. “Our players are getting to the point where they enjoy popping each other because they know they have to do that to get better. We have some pretty good hitting going on out there.”%^$
%^$Tressel noted that the quarterbacks are not excluded from that contact. “It has been my experience that if you don’t train quarterbacks rhythmically, they get a little hesitant. I think live (contact) is good for them.”%^$
%^$Asked about the progress of sophomore-to-be signal caller Scott McMullen, the coach replied. “I have been pleased with all the quarterbacks. Scott has a quick release and likes to compete. I like the way he has taken us down field the past two practices. But all of them still have a long way to go.”%^$
%^$Tressel knows, too, his quarterbacks are only as good as their receivers. “We are very young. We need to throw the ball a lot in the spring and get a look at what those young men can do. We are constantly evaluating.”%^$
%^$The Buckeyes practice Thursday and then are off for the weekend.
