Women’s Soccer Halts Flyers’ Streak With 1-0 Victory – Ohio State Buckeyes

%^$COLUMBUS, Ohio– The Ohio State women’s soccer team defeated the Dayton%^$Flyers, 1-0, at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium Friday afternoon in blustery%^$conditions. The Buckeyes improved to 4-3 overall and 0-0 in the Big Ten%^$while the Flyers fell to 3-3 overall and 0-0 in the Atlantic 10.

%^$Lindsay Eckles (So., Hilliard, Ohio/Hilliard Davidson) netted the%^$lone Buckeye goal in the 65th minute after receiving the ball from an OSU%^$throw-in. With the goal, Eckles extended her scoring streak to six games in%^$which she has recorded 19 total points on eight goals and three assists.

%^$Buckeye goalkeeper Amber Barnes (Sr., Fairfield, Ohio/Fairfield)%^$anchored the OSU defense with her first shutout of the season. Barnes%^$recorded five saves, including a leaping save on a Dayton free kick that she%^$tipped over the net.
