OSU Scoreboard Staff Brings Home Another Award – Ohio State Buckeyes

%^$COLUMBUS, Ohio-The OSU Scoreboard Animation Staff collected its 17th Golden Matrix Award from the 18th Annual Information Display and Entertainment Association (IDEA) Conference held in Buffalo, N.Y. on July 9-13. The conference features over 80 sports organizations, which includes audio, video, matrix board and marketing personnel from the NCAA, NHL, MLB, NFL and NBA.%^$
%^$OSU earned a Golden Matrix Award for “Best Original Matrix Animations” for the eighth year in a row, and came in second for “Best Matrix Board Overall”. Ohio State has garnered the “Best Matrix Board Overall” award for five of the past eleven years.%^$
%^$”We hope to use more video graphics in the year to come with our new video system and enter other competitive categories,” said Craig Brown, Director of Scoreboard Operations. “We have the only student staff in the country and that has helped us out immensely. Other universities, such as Stanford, are now trying to emulate us.”%^$
%^$Since 1989, OSU has collected 17 awards, which are sponsored by Mitsubishi Diamond Vision and Sony Jumbotron. The 17 awards rank Ohio State number one for total awards given out by IDEA since 1989. OSU has won an award each year since 1991.%^$
%^$Ohio State has been recognized by IDEA for its graphics and animation used for the matrix scoreboards located in The Jerome Schottenstein Center, Ohio Stadium, Bill Davis Stadium, St. John Arena and The French Field House.
