Football’s Preseason Media/Fan Dates Scheduled – Ohio State Buckeyes

%^$COLUMBUS, Ohio–The 2000 Ohio State football season officially gets underway later this month when%^$ John Cooper, OSU head coach, along with quarterback Steve Bellisari (Jr., Boca Raton, Fla./Boca Raton) and%^$ defensive end Rodney Bailey (Sr., Cleveland, Ohio/St. Edwards) travel to Chicago for the 29th annual Big Ten%^$ Conference Kickoff Luncheon. The event is held this year at the Sheraton Chicago Hotel & Towers.%^$
%^$ Cooper enjoys the Big Ten Kickoff for a variety of reasons.%^$ “The exciting thing about the kickoff luncheon is you know once you get back home the players will be%^$ reporting,” Cooper said. “You also have the opportunity to see your fellow colleagues. There is an%^$ opportunity to get an idea of what the Big Ten will have to offer in the coming year.”%^$
%^$ Upon returning to the Ohio State campus, Cooper looks forward to working with the incoming freshmen%^$ and the returning varsity.%^$
%^$ “We are anxious to see the young pups in person that we recruited last year to see just how good they%^$ are,” Cooper said. “We get a chance to evaluate their talents, see how fast they are, see how big they are and%^$ see how high they can jump. We also are looking forward to working again with our varsity players. They%^$ have been working hard all summer. We are anxious to get out on the field.”%^$
%^$ The public is invited to an autograph session with coaches and players from 10-11 a.m. in the Promenade%^$ Room followed by the 29th Annual Kickoff Luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Sheraton Ballrooms.%^$
%^$Ohio State Football Reporting Dates
%^$ Ohio State freshman football players report to campus Aug. 7. The varsity reports Aug. 10. Practice%^$ begins Aug. 12 with the first day in full pads scheduled for Aug. 16.%^$
%^$Fan day in Columbus scheduled for Aug. 11
%^$ Fans are invited to an autograph session with coaches and players from 4-5 p.m. on the indoor practice field of%^$ the Woody Hayes Athletic Facility.
