Department of Athletics To Donate To The Adam Taliaferro Fund – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State Director of Athletics, Andy Geiger, said today that a portion of the money raised from the sale of game programs at the Minnesota-Ohio State football game on Oct. 14 would be donated to the long-term care fund that Penn State has established for injured football player Adam Taliaferro.
Taliaferro sustained a spinal cord injury in the fourth quarter of the Penn State-Ohio State game on Sept. 23 in Columbus. He underwent decompression spinal fusion surgery at The Ohio State University Hospitals on Sept. 25 and has since been transferred to a hospital in the Philadelphia area that is closer to his home in New Jersey.
Penn State announced last Thursday that a long-term care fund for Adam had been established within the University to assist with expenses over and above those covered by family, University and NCAA catastrophic injury insurance programs.
To assist in that area, Ohio State will donate $1.00 from each program sold at the Minnesota game. A total of 22,000 program will be printed for that game, which is Ohio State’s next home game.
“All of us here at Ohio State hope that this helps in some small way,” said Geiger. “Adam and his family are in our thoughts and in our prayers each and every day. We are encouraged that he has shown some improvement and are hopeful that he will continue to make progress. He has a lot of people pulling for him.”
