COLUMBUS, Ohio – A light morning workout set the stage for the Buckeyes’ last real hitting practice of the fall camp Wednesday afternoon: a scrimmage at Ohio Stadium.
Head Coach John Cooper “Quotes”
On today’s scrimmage: “Pretty good workout at the stadium with the officials and the clock running. There was a lot of contact and a lot of work. We worked on clock situations and the kicking game. “
On the end of training camp: “I’m sure the team is glad to get out of the three and two-a-day sessions. From now on, everything we do will be toward getting ready for West Virginia and I’m sure they’re ready to play a game.”
What players have played will in training camp: “Some of the veteran players had great camps. Tyson Walter’s taken every snap at left tackle, Ben Gilbert, Kurt Murphy, David Boston, Dee Miller and all the receivers, and Joe Germaine. Some of the running backs have been beat up but they’ve still played well. Defensively, the guys who’ve been out there have been given us good effort. The entire secondary has been solid.”
On Reggie Germany: “Reggie was a good football player last year and will get even better down the road. Receiver is a place we have a lot of depth”
Quarterback Joe Germaine “Quotes”
On the today’s scrimmage: “Today was a lot more sharp than the first scrimmage. We cut out on a lot of the mistakes we made the first scrimmage. Our offensive line controlled the line of scrimmage and that’s something that went really well. But we did have some penalties and we have to get better at the little things.”
On the possible factor of the crowd at West Virginia: “Once you step between the white lines, and you’re into the game, you don’t hear the crowd that much. We’ve played in big stadiums and in front of big crowds is an advantage.”
On the end of training camp: “We had a real good camp and got a lot of work done but I think all of us are ready to start the season and play real games.” – GO BUCKS –
