COLUMBUS, Ohio – David Boston became the first player to win back-to-back Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week honors since 1996 when he was named player of the week this week for his terrific efforts in the Buckeyes’ 31-16 win over Michigan. He was also chosen for the Big Ten honor last week for his efforts in the Iowa win. Saturday against the Wolverines, Boston caught 10 passes for a career-best 217 yards and two touchdowns (30 and 43 yards). He broke his own school single season record for season receptions (74) and he also moved into second place in career yardage with 2,750, passing OSU great Cris Carter who had 2,725. The 217 receiving yards was the most ever by an opponent vs. Michigan, breaking Northwestern’s John Harvey’s record of 208 in 1982. Boston needs just 43 receiving yards in the bowl game to break Gary Williams’ OSU record of 2,792 yards.
