THIS WEEKEND AROUND THE BIG TEN . . .
Indiana at Illinois; 2 p.m. EST – The Illini lead the series 36-16-1 with a 23-7-1 record in Champaign. The Hoosiers broke a five-game losing streak to Illinois last year with a 23-6 victory in Bloomington.
Penn State at Michigan; 1 p.m. EST, ABC – The Wolverines and Nittany Lions entered the 1998 season ranked among the leaders in all-time victories. Michigan was first with 776. PSU was sixth with 715. The visiting team has won four of the five meetings between the two powers.
Michigan State at Ohio State; 3:30 p.m. EST, ABC – Ohio State has won 20 of 30 meetings with the Spartans but are just 10-6 in Ohio Stadium. The Buckeyes have won the last five games. MSU last won at OSU in 1987, 13-7. OSU is 13-2 over the Spartans since 1975.
Minnesota at Wisconsin; 12:10 p.m. EST, ESPN – Wisconsin is 5-3 vs. Minnesota in the 1990s after winning the last three contests. Overall, Minnesota leads the series 57-42-8. Wisconsin has the edge at home, 24-22-6.
Purdue at Northwestern; 12:10 p.m. EST – The Boilermakers are no stranger to success in Evanston. Purdue has a 23-15-1 record on the Wildcats’ home field and an overall advantage of 41-23-1.

THIS WEEK’S PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
Defense – Andy Katzenmoyer was named co-defensive player of the week after a six-tackle performance at Indiana. He had five solos, three tackles for loss a sack and a forced fumble. Willie Fells of Purdue was the other co-player of the week. Fells had 13 tackles in the Boilermaker’s win over Iowa.
Offense – Joe Germaine was co-offensive player of the week after throwing his fourth consecutive 300+ yard game at Indiana. He completed 31 of 45 attempts (69 pct.) for 351 yards and three TDs. Tai Streets of Michigan had six receptions for 192 yards and a TD to earn the co-award with Germaine Special Teams – Paul Edinger of Michigan State booted five field goals in the win over Northwestern and accounted for 17 points.
