COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s ice hockey team collected multiple WCHA preseason honors, the conference office announced Wednesday. Junior forward Emma Maltais was voted co-Player of the Year and both Maltais and senior defender Jincy Dunne made the All-WCHA team.
Maltais and Wisconsin senior Abby Roque each received two votes for player of the year while Dunne was the only defenseman to receive a vote in the category.
Dunne was the league’s only unanimous coaches’ pick for All-Team honors after being named last season’s WCHA Defenseman of the Year. Maltais picks up her first preseason All-Team honor after leading the Buckeyes last season with 43 points.
