COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State sophomore forward Dorka Juhasz has been named preseason All-Big Ten as announced by the conference on Monday. Juhasz received the honor on the coaches ballot.
The native of Pecs, Hungary led the team in both scoring and rebounding last season as a freshman. She was named to the Big Ten All-Freshman Team and was a second team all-conference selection.
Juhasz played in 27 of the 29 games in her first year and recorded 12 double-doubles, which was fourth in the Big Ten. She grabbed 6.6 defensive rebounds per game which was sixth overall in the Big Ten and tops by any freshman. Her 19 games of 10 or more points was also tops on the team.
Juhasz will be expected to continue her progression this season as the Buckeyes have added eight newcomers to the roster, including seven freshman. Ohio State will play an exhibition game vs. Urbana on Nov. 3 before opening the regular season on Sunday, Nov. 10 vs. Valparaiso in Springfield, Ohio.
