CLEVELAND – Hoskins, a Dayton, Ohio native, was the 33rd overall pick. Former teammate Jessica Davenport was taken No. 2 overall earlier Wednesday. Davenport then was traded to New York.
Hoskins completed her Ohio State career as a three-time All-Big Ten honoree. She ranks No. 5 all-time in career assists with 471 and 13th in career points at 1,462.
Hoskins played in 23 games in 2006-07 before her career was prematurely ended with an injury to her right Achilles tendon Feb. 8 at Minnesota. Hoskins was Ohio State’s second-leading scorer at 14.3 points a game and topped the team in assists with 113.
Hoskins is the eighth Buckeye taken in 11 WNBA drafts and the third in the last two years. Debbie Merrill was a second-round selection by Connecticut in 2006.
