COLUMBUS, Ohio – Four members of the Ohio State women’s soccer team have earned CSC Academic All-District Honors. Maddy Lowe, Emaly Vatne, Kine Flotre and Kailyn Dudukovich have all earned the award for the first time.

To be eligible for the award, the student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at her current institution. The student-athlete must also have completed one full calendar year at her current institution and is at least a sophomore academically and athletically.

Lowe, who is in her sixth year with the program, is in the kinesiology graduate program. One of four captains this season, Lowe has scored two of her three career goals this fall. She scored the game-winner against Missouri in the second match of the season and then netted one of three Buckeye goals in a 3-0 win over Big Ten Tournament champion Penn State. The Webster, N.Y. native was a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar last year and will likely be a four-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree and a six-time OSU Scholar-Athlete.

Vatne, who is serving as a captain for the second consecutive season, is also in the kinesiology graduate program and currently working with the Ohio State Human Performance Collaborative. Vatne is a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar and will be named a four-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree later this year. The Sterling Heights, Mich., native has made 78 appearances over her five seasons with the program and has four goals to her credit.

Flotre, a junior from Fjellhamar, Norway, is a psychology major. She has appeared in all 19 matches with 18 starts this season. She has two goals and a team-high tying five assists for a career-high nine points. That led her to picking up her first All-Conference honor as she was named third team All-Big Ten. Her best game was a three-assist performance in the Buckeye’s 4-0 win at Indiana, tying the program’s single-game record. Flotre is a two-time OSU Scholar-Athlete.

Dudukovich is a sophomore mathematics major from Westchester, Ohio. She had an All-Big Ten freshman season and has followed that with another solid season this year. Her seven goals match her total from last season, and she has also added an assist. She notched her first career hat trick with three goals against Maryland and has also netted three game-winning goals this season. Dudukovich earned third team All-Big Ten honors a year ago and was also an OSU Scholar-Athlete.

The Buckeyes beat Bucknell 1-0 last Friday night in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament and will take on Arkansas in the second round this Friday in Fayetteville, Ark.
