
Four Buckeyes are Inside Lacrosse Midseason All-Americans

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Four Ohio State Buckeyes were among Inside Lacrosse’s Midseason All-Americans, released on Thursday afternoon. Attackman Jack Myers was a second team pick while faceoff specialist Justin Inacio, short stick defensive midfielder Connor Cmiel and midfielder Jackson Reid were all honorable mention selections.
Myers, a two-time Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week, is the Big Ten leader and sixth nationally in assists per game at 2.89. His 5.22 points per game average is third-best in the Big Ten and No. 11 nationally. The senior from Bethasda, Md., who is also a team captain, has multiple points in eight of nine games this season and currently leads the team with 47 points (21 goals, 26 assists).
Inacio, who earlier this season became Ohio State’s all-time leader is faceoff wins, is 119-for-189 at the X this season (.630) with a team-high 56 ground balls. He was the Big Ten’s Specialist of the Week on Feb. 22 after winning 18 of 26 faceoffs in a 20-8 win at No. 4 North Carolina.
Part of Ohio State’s success on faceoffs this season can be attributed to the wing play of Cmiel, who has 23 ground balls – third-most on the team. A sophomore, Cmiel has also scored two goals and added two assists for four points.
Reid, a fifth-year senior, is second on the team with 31 points through nine games (21 goals, 10 assists). He’s been particularly productive lately, notching 17 points in the last four games. He had six points in wins over Notre Dame and Dartmouth and a combined five points (four goals, one assist) in games vs. Denver and Rutgers. Reid is Ohio State’s active career leader with 149 points on 105 goals and 44 assists.
