Former Buckeye and Green Bay Packer to represent Ohio State in Madison
Vince Workman, a Buckeye from 1984-87, will serve as Ohio State’s honorary captain in the game Saturday at Wisconsin. A native of Dublin, Ohio, Workman led the Buckeyes in rushing in 1986, gaining 1,030 yards on 210 carries for the Big Ten co-champion Buckeyes.
Workman, who scored the decided touchdown in the 28-12 win over Texas A&M in the 1987 Cotton Bowl, played nine seasons in the NFL from 1989-96. He spent time with four teams, getting his start with Green Bay before moving on to Tampa Bay, Carolina and Indianapolis.
Workman had a career-best 11 touchdowns in 1991 and led the Packers with 631 yards rushing in 1992. After his career, Workman held a position with the Packers player development until 2006.
Saturday, the Buckeyes and Badgers kickoff at 8 p.m. ET. The game will be televised live by ABC. Fans also can listen to the Ohio State Radio Network call on Buckeye Vision at OhioStateBuckeyes.com.
