COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State women’s gymnastics’ Lexi Edwards is set to compete in the second semifinal session of the 2022 NCAA Championships at 6 p.m. ET Thursday in Fort Worth, Texas. The junior will rotate with Missouri and compete on vault in the final rotation of the night from Dickies Arena.

The NCAA semifinals will be broadcast on ESPN2. Individual apparatus feeds can be streamed on ESPN3.

EDWARDS THIS SEASON

The Richmond, Va. native qualified for nationals after posting a career-best 9.950 on vault in the Buckeyes’ NCAA regional at Auburn. Her score is the highest by a Buckeye gymnast since 2014.

This year, Edwards led Ohio State with eight individual event titles, including four on vault. She has reached career-bests on vault, uneven bars (9.925) and floor (9.950) during the 2022 season and helped the Buckeyes to program record scores on bars and floor.

She led the Scarlet and Gray on floor and vault this season.

 BUCKEYES AT THE NCAA REGIONAL

Ohio State closed out the team season at the Auburn Regional on March 31. The team finished third in the second session with a score of 196.925. While the score was not enough to earn the Buckeyes a spot at nationals, it is a program-record NCAA regional score.

The team was tied with Denver headed into the final rotation of the night, thanks to a 49.400 performance on uneven bars, a 49.100 score on beam and 49.125 on floor. The Buckeyes scored a second-high 49.300 on vault to close the meet, but it did not outscore the Pioneers.

The final score for Ohio State is the fourth-highest mark in program history.
