Buckeyes to Host Elite Invitational This Weekend

COLUMBUS, Ohio – This weekend, the Ohio State fencing program welcomes eight teams to French Field House for the Elite Invitational.

Comprised of team dual matches, competition will be Saturday and Sunday, starting at 9 a.m. each day. A full schedule is below.

Joining the Buckeyes will be Air Force, Cleveland State, Denison, Johns Hopkins, Notre Dame, UCSD, UPenn and Wayne State.

A live stream is expected to be available for both days, accessed through the fencing home page on OhioStateBuckeyes.com. Results will be updated HERE following each round.

Admission is free both days, with parking free on the south side of French Field House.

Noting the Buckeyes

  • Both the men’s and women’s squads have 5-0 dual match records. The teams hosted the Ohio State Invitational Oct. 3 and posted wins over Purdue, Cleveland State, Wayne State, Michigan and Clemson.
  • The Buckeyes last competed at the individual Penn State Open. Leading the way was freshman Miles Weiss who was the men’s epee champion and Julieta Toledo who won gold in women’s sabre.
  • At the October NAC, Henry Lange won gold in Division 1 men’s epee, Nolan Williams placed seventh in Division 1 men’s sabre and Camilla Rivano notched a ninth-place finish in Division 1 women’s foil.

  • Select Buckeyes will compete in the Division 1 NAC in Columbus starting Dec. 9, with the January NAC in San Diego, Calif., starting Jan. 7.
