Buckeyes Set to Race at U.S. Open

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Eight members of the Ohio State swim program make the trip to Greensboro, N.C. this week to compete at the 2021 U.S. Open Championship. The meet will be held Dec. 1-4 at the Greensboro Aquatic Center.

From the men’s team, Sem Andreis (50/100 Free, 100 Fly), Charlie Clark (200/400/800/1500 Free), Ruslan Gaziev (50/100/200 Free), Chachi Gustafson (100/200 Fly), Hudson McDaniel (100 Breast) and Alex Quach (100/200 Free, 100/200 Fly) make the trip to North Carolina. Hannah Bach (100/200 Breast) and Teresa Ivan (50/100 Free, 100 Back) will represent the women’s team.

The Buckeyes have seen their fair share of success at the Greensboro Aquatic Center this year, as the facility hosted the men’s and women’s 2021 NCAA Championships and the Speedo Summer Championships. Ohio State finished seventh at the NCAA Championships in both the men’s and women’s meet. At the 2021 Speedo Summer Sectionals, the men’s and women’s 400 Medley Relay earned wins as well as Clark in the 400, 800 and 1500 Free.

Event Schedule

Racing begins Wednesday, Dec. 1 with the men’s and women’s 800m Free at 6 p.m. Prelims on Thursday, Friday and Saturday start at 10 a.m. and finals begin at 7 p.m.
