Buckeyes Set 2022 Spring Schedule

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State field hockey program will play a full spring schedule beginning next month, as the Buckeyes are slated to compete on three different weekends in April as preparations continue for the 2022 fall season.

“This has been a great spring,” said head coach Jarred Martin. “The team has worked really hard on areas that we identified after the fall season that were necessary for our program’s growth. I have been proud of the improvements this group has made on and off the field. They have brought great energy and focus each day which makes the training environment fun and productive.”

The schedule kicks off April 2-3 as the Buckeyes travel to Louisville, Ky. and will face Miami (Ohio) twice, Indiana and Ohio University. The games will be mixed between full four-quarter contests and half two-quarter games.

The next weekend, April 9-10, Ohio State makes the trek north to Ann Arbor, Mich. to face Iowa, Northwestern, Michigan State and Louisville in the 2022 Hockeypoalooza. Games will consist of four 12.5-minute quarters.

Finally, the spring season will come to a close on Sunday, April 17 when a game at Ohio University.

“We get to see how the work will translate on the field against other opponents,” said Martin. “It’s a great spring line up facing various styles of play and some high level competition that will challenge our game in a lot of ways. I am looking forward to seeing the team compete and how individuals step in to game play that might not have had a lot of chances in the fall.”
