COLUMBUS, Ohio-The Ohio State Department of Athletics and it’s men’s basketball program recognized Ohio’s own LeBron James during pregame ceremonies at the preseason NBA game between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Boston Celtics Wednesday at Value City Arena.
Gene Smith, Ohio State associate vice president and director of athletics, along with Thad Matta, head coach of the Buckeyes, and members of the 2009-10 men’s basketball team presented a framed No. 23 Ohio State basketball jersey to James in recognition for his support of the men’s basketball program and Ohio State Athletics.
Since Ohio State’s 2007 postseason run to the NCAA National Championship Game, the apparel worn by the Buckeyes has been from the Nike LeBron James line of gear. Ohio State was chosen as the first college to wear LeBron James apparel.
