COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Big Ten Conference released its women’s basketball preseason media and coaches’ rankings as well as the preseason All-Big Ten team on Tuesday. The Buckeyes were selected fifth in both the media and coaches’ rankings.
The coaches and media rankings matched, with both selecting Maryland to win the conference. Indiana, Iowa and Michigan were ranked second through fourth, respectively, with Ohio State rounding out the top five. View rankings and preseason team selections HERE.
The Buckeyes were selected 17th in the preseason poll released by the Associated Press last week, rounding out five Big Ten schools ranked in the top-25. All five of these programs were ranked in the Big Ten preseason poll and in the same order as AP selected Maryland fourth, Indiana eighth, Iowa ninth and Michigan 11th. Ohio State was in the top 25 in each weekly AP poll last season, topping out at No. 11 in week 11 and finishing the season at 22nd.
This season’s home schedule features 16 regular-season games after the exhibition against Slippery Rock on Nov. 3. The season opener is against Bucknell (Nov. 10) and the first home game of the Big Ten schedule is against No. 8 Indiana (Dec. 12). View full schedule HERE.
