This is the Buckeyes’ 13th-consecutive week in the top 10, continuing its program-record streak. The Buckeyes’ previous record was 10-straight weeks in the top 10 in 2004.
Ohio State (23-5, 13-5 Big Ten) began the weekend with a four-set win (25-15, 25-15, 22-25, 25-16) against Iowa on Friday night inside Covelli on family night. The Buckeyes forced the Hawkeyes to hit just .076 on the match as OSU surpassed 10 blocks as a team for the eighth time this season. Ohio State had five players reach double figures in digs for the first time this season, led by Kylie Murr’s 24 digs as she moved up to sixth in program history with 1,334 career digs. In Sunday’s senior day and regular-season home finale, the Buckeyes beat No. 15 Penn State in four sets (25-23, 22-25, 25-11, 25-20) in front of a sold-out crowd in Covelli. Ohio State forced the Nittany Lions to hit just .123 in the match and .028 in the third set to earn the Buckeyes’ fifth ranked win of the season and third this month. Murr moved up to fifth in program history in career digs (1,350) as she logged 17 digs. Hannah Gruensfelder totaled a season-high in digs (19) to lead all players as Mac Podraza (49 assists, 14 digs) and Emily Londot (22 kills, 12 digs) each picked up a double-double.
