MADISON, Wisc. – Ohio State battled all night but wasn’t quite able to get over the hump as the Buckeyes fell 75-70 to Wisconsin on Wednesday evening.

The loss was just the third of the season for the Buckeyes who are now 12-3 overall and 8-3 in the Big Ten.

Dorka Juhasz notched her fifth consecutive double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds. Madison Greene was 6-of-7 from the free throw line and finished with 15 points and four assists.

Senior Braxtin Miller was the third Buckeye in double figures with 10 points but she was slowed by foul trouble all night and eventually fouled out. Junior Aaliyah Patty finished with nine points and six rebounds.

Wisconsin was the aggressor all night as the Badgers won the battle on the boards 49-34 and shot 47 percent for the game. Imani Lewis scored a career-high 27 points.

The Buckeyes took their largest lead of the night at 27-22 early in the second quarter but Wisconsin responded with an 11-0 run to take a six-point lead. Ohio State was never able to regain the lead the rest of the way.

The Badger lead wasn’t even more than six points and the Buckeyes seemed to be on the verge all second half of stringing together a run, but it never materialized. A Miller three with 5:05 to play in the fourth evened the score at 64-64 and after a couple of Lewis free throws on the other end, Tanaya Beacham tied the game again with a jumper with 4:26 left. But that would be the Buckeyes final field goal of the game and Wisconsin was able to hold on for the win.

The Buckeyes return home looking to get back on track and looking for revenge this Sunday when they welcome Northwestern to Value City Arena. The Wildcats won the first meeting of the season 69-57 on Feb. 1 in Evanston. Tip-off Sunday is set for 12:30 p.m. and BTN will have the coverage.
