COLUMBUS, Ohio – With just three matches remaining in the regular season, every match is pivotal, especially one against your rival. That’s the case Sunday for the Buckeyes as they will entertain No. 22 Michigan at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium. First touch is set for 2 p.m. and the match will be televised on BTN.

Admission and parking are free for all women’s soccer matches.

  • The all-time series between the two teams is close, as you would expect between two rivals. UM leads the series 15-13-4.
  • The two teams tied 1-1 last spring in the opening match of a weird season. The match was played inside the Woody Hayes Athletic Center on Ohio State’s campus on Feb. 20. Here’s to hoping that will be the last February indoor meeting.
  • In last year’s match, Michigan took a lead midway through the opening half and then Emma Sears tied it in the 68th minute off a nice pass from Kayla Fischer.
  • Ohio State comes into the match in a log jam for the final couple of spots in the Big Ten Tournament. Five teams are separated by just three points for the seventh and eighth spots.
  • The Buckeyes are 7-7-1 overall on the season and 2-4-1 in the conference. They are coming off a tough 1-0 overtime setback at the hands of No. 19 Purdue on Thursday. The Buckeyes seemed to be the better side in the final 45 minutes but a goal just 34 seconds into the extra session spoiled their evening.
  • Michigan has won its last two matches since getting blasted 4-1 by Rutgers. The Wolverines are in third place in the conference at 4-1-2 and 10-2-3 overall.
  • Captain Izzy Rodriguez was named to the MAC Hermann Award Watch list at the start of the season and was also named a candidate for the Senior CLASS Award. She has a pair of goals and an assist on the year.
  • Senior Kayla Fischer leads the Buckeyes in points this season with 16 as she has five goals and a team-high tying six assists. She entered the week sixth in the conference in points and third in the conference in assists. She has 224 shot attempts in her career which is sixth-most in program history.
  • Kine Flotre is tied with Fischer with six assists on the year. She has missed the last couple of matches with a foot injury.
  • Freshman forward Kailyn Dudukovich has registered points in four of the last seven matches and leads the team with six goals on the season. Those six goals are the most by any Big Ten freshman this year.
