COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s volleyball program and Head Coach Jen Flynn Oldenburg announced the 2022 non-conference schedule on Tuesday. All seven non-conference opponents made the NCAA Tournament last fall with two of them reaching the final four and two more reaching the elite eight.
“With a veteran squad returning in almost every position, I feel like our team needs to be challenged early and often,” said Oldenburg. “It will be exciting to compete in matches that feature the top programs in other leagues; with a bonus being able to get to the Atlanta area so that Gabby Gonzales and Reilly MacNeill can play in front of their families. This is a schedule that will prepare our team for the B1G and ultimately the NCAA tournament and I’m eager to see how our team rises to the challenge.”
The Buckeyes open the 2022 season at home against Texas on Friday, Aug. 26 at 7 p.m. The two teams will play again on Saturday, Aug. 27 at 7 p.m.
Ohio State’s first road trip of the fall is to Louisville, facing San Diego on Saturday, Sept. 3 before playing Louisville on Sunday, Sept. 4. The Buckeyes then travel to Georgia Tech to play BYU (Sept. 9) and Georgia Tech (Sept. 11). Times for these four matches are to be determined.
OSU wraps up its non-conference schedule with a trip to Pitt to play Tennessee (Sept. 17 at 5 p.m.) and Pitt (Sept. 18 at 1 p.m.).
