COLUMBUS, Ohio –Brian Maisonneuve, now in his fourth season in Columbus, will have three veterans returning with the announcement that Samuel Buzzas, Joe Ortiz and Noah Lawrence elected to use an extra year of eligibility granted by the NCAA because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Buzzas, who completed a redshirt senior season in the 2021 Spring season, spent two years at Xavier before playing the last two seasons in Columbus.
The defender from Bend, Oregon, has played 25 games for the Buckeyes with a pair of goals to his credit.
Ortiz, a midfielder from Albuquerque, New Mexico, started his career at Air Force before playing the last two campaigns at Ohio State. He has appeared in 27 games as a Buckeye with two goals and an assist to his credit.
Lawrence, a native of Mount Vernon, New York, joined the Ohio State roster in 2020 and served as the Ohio State goal keeper last spring. He played for three seasons at Cincinnati before the program was dropped.
He has 46 games of experience in goal, 10 coming during his time in Columbus.
