Recently graduated Ohio State swimmer Brooke Glesenkamp, from Delaware, Ohio, and Delaware Hayes High School, has been honored today as a recipient of the Woody & Anne Hayes Award, a post-graduate scholarship for graduate school at Ohio State University. She is one of five outstanding student-athletes who earned the award based on academic achievement and leadership qualities.

Glesenkamp graduated from Ohio State two weeks ago after majoring in health and rehabilitation sciences and minoring in integrative medicine. She plans to attend Ohio State’s nursing grad entry program and seeks a career as a nurse practitioner.

One of only 11 from the swimming and diving program who this year was named an OSU Scholar-Athlete for a fourth time for her academic achievement, Glesenkamp is also a three-time Academic All-Big Ten Conference honoree.

Glesenkamp swam four years at Ohio State after a stellar prep career at Delaware Hayes High School and club career with the Delaware Oho Racing Club. A sprint freestyler, Glesenkamp had personal bests of 23.14 in the 50 freestyle, 50.63 in the 100 free and 1:51.17 in the 200 free with all coming while swimming at the Big Ten championships.

As a Buckeye, Glesenkamp was a part of two Ohio State teams that won back-to-back Big Ten Conference championships in 2019 and 2021 and that swam to its highest-ever finish at the NCAA Championships this past season: seventh.
