Adam Wallin to Represent Sweden at World Amateur


COLUMBUS, Ohio – Sweden native and Ohio State rising junior Adam Wallin has been selected to represent his home country later this month in the 32nd World Amateur Team Championships in France.

The tournament will run Aug. 31 – Sept. 3 at Le Golf National outside of Paris, France. Three-player teams will compete against the world’s leading amateurs over 72 holes of stroke play. The biennial event is conducted by the International Golf Federation, which comprises 151 national governing bodies of golf in 146 countries, and 22 international professional tours and organizations conducting major championships. Le Golf National was host to the 2018 Ryder Cup and will also play host to the Olympic Games Paris 2024.

Wallin had a tremendous sophomore season, posting eight Top 20 finishes with a scoring average of 71.97 over 11 events and 32 rounds. He also claimed his first collegiate win, winning the Colleton River Collegiate at 14-under par. Wallin had 10 rounds in the 60s and a total of 17 rounds at par or better. He was the low Buckeye finisher at this year’s NCAA Championship.

Already this summer, Wallin has represented Sweden at the European Amateur Championship, the European Amateur Team Championship and the St. Andrews Trophy which was a match play event between amateurs from Continental Europe and Great Britain and Ireland.
