2022-23 Big Ten Home & Away Opponents Announced

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Big Ten Conference announced on Thursday the home and away conference opponents for the 2022-23 women’s basketball season. Each of the 14 Big Ten programs will play an 18-game conference slate.

The Buckeyes’ tough conference slate includes hosting 2022 Big Ten Champion Iowa inside Value City Arena at the Schottenstein Center this season after making the trip to Iowa City during the 2021-22 season. Ohio State will face Indiana, Maryland and Michigan both at home and on the road after the Hoosiers, Terrapins and Wolverines were consistently top-25 teams in 2021-22 and all made NCAA Tournament appearances, with IU and MU reaching the Sweet 16 and UM reaching the Elite Eight.

Ohio State will also play Minnesota and Northwestern twice. Other home-only opponents for the Buckeyes include Illinois, Michigan State and Purdue. OSU will play on the road against Nebraska, Penn State, Rutgers and Wisconsin.

In 2021-22, Ohio State captured a share of the Big Ten regular season title by finishing the season with a 14-4 record in conference play. The Buckeyes’ conference success included ranked wins against No. 12/11 Maryland at home and No. 21/24 Iowa on the road and was sealed with a win at Michigan State in the regular-season finale. Ohio State went on to earn its spot in the Sweet 16 by beating Missouri State in the first round of the NCAA Tournament and notching a wire-to-wire ranked win at LSU in the second round.

The 2022-23 non-conference schedule and dates for the Big Ten schedule will be announced later this summer.
