
Wrestling Adds Anthony Echemendia

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Anthony Echemendia, the reigning U.S. Junior National Champion in both freestyle and Greco-Roman, signed a National Letter of Intent to join the Ohio State wrestling program and plans to enroll in classes for the Spring semester.
Echemendia is coming off a calendar year which he found mass on-mat success:
-Arizona state title for Sunnyside High School (Tucson) with a 22-0 record at 152 pounds
-Junior National Champion at Fargo in both freestyle and Greco-Roman, going 14-0 between both tournaments and outscoring his opposition by a combined tally of 139-10
-A 10-0 tech fall winner at FloWrestling’s Who’s #1 event

The 2019 Sunnyside High graduate won six Cuban national championships at the Cadet and Junior levels before coming to the United States.
