Student-Athletes Set to Receive Ohio State Degrees

Summer 2020 Student-Athlete Graduates
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Sunday, 27 current and former student-athletes will receive their degrees from Ohio State. The complete list of graduates is available in the table below or in the PDF linked above. The virtual commencement ceremony is at 2 p.m., with a pre-ceremony video of graduates and university leaders beginning at 1:30 p.m., and will be online HERE.
Among the athletics’ graduates …
- Shaun Wade, one of seven captains for the 2020 football team, who was a Third Team All-Big Ten selection last year.
- Three who returned to Ohio State to finish their degrees through the athletics department’s degree completion program – Trevor Thompson (men’s basketball), Kelvin Bell (football) and Michael Bennett (football). Bennett was part of the Buckeyes’ 2014 national championship squad.
- Sammy Stone of the field hockey program, a three-time member of the National Field Hockey Coaches Association National Academic Squad.
- Robbie Delagrange of the pistol team, who earned All-America honors and was part of the Buckeyes’ 2018 national championship.
- Kyle Young of the men’s basketball team, who has received Academic All-Big Ten honors and was named to the 2019-20 National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Honors Court for academic excellence.
The 27 student-athlete summer graduates join 231 who earned their degrees in autumn/spring. The Buckeye student-athletes had an outstanding year in the classroom overall. There were 647 Ohio State Scholar-Athletes, 447 received Academic All-Big Ten honors and 164 were recognized as Big Ten Distinguished Scholars.
