Several Buckeyes Set to Compete at U.S. Open

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Several members of the 2021-22 Ohio State Wrestling Team will complete at the U.S. Open Championships this week at the South Point Hotel in Las Vegas.
The entire tournament will be live-streamed on FloWrestling.org.
Three Buckeyes will take part in the freestyle competition, all three are set to return to Ohio State for the 2022-23 season.
Jordan Decatur, who missed most of the 2021-22 campaign with injury, will compete in the 65kg weight class. Three-time All-American Sammy Sasso will wrestle in the 70kg class while Tate Orndorff, a two-time NCAA qualifier with the Buckeyes, will compete in the 125kg bracket.
In the senior Greco-Roman competition, Tate will be in the 130kg bracket. Dylan Koontz (60kg) and Fritz Schierl (77kg), who exhausted their Ohio State eligibility, also will compete Saturday and Sunday (7 a.m. ET start times).
In the U20 junior freestyle competition, returning Buckeyes Andre Gonzales (57kg), Alex Flerlage (61kg) and Bryce Hepner (74kg) are scheduled to compete.
Freestyle competition is scheduled for Friday (7 a.m. ET) and Saturday (7 a.m. ET).
