
Seventeen Buckeyes Named Academic All-Big Ten

Seventeen members of the No. 16 Ohio State men’s hockey team – nearly 90 percent of eligible student-athletes – have been named to the Academic All-Big Ten Team for winter sports, the Big Ten Conference announced Wednesday. The 17 honorees is tied for the second-most among B1G teams this season, behind only Notre Dame (18).
Seniors Gustaf Westlund (economics) and Quinn Preston (sport industry) are both now three-time Academic All-Big Ten selections.
Two-time honorees include Michael Gildon (sport industry), Jaedon Leslie (finance), James Marooney (logistics management), Dalton Messina (sport industry), CJ Regula (finance), Tate Singleton (finance) and Ryan Snowden (operations management).
Nine Buckeyes were recognized for the first time: Matthew Cassidy (economics), Mark Cheremeta (marketing), Joe Dunlap (operations management), Grant Gabriele (sport industry), Patrick Guzzo (finance), Evan McIntyre (consumer and family financial services), Travis Treloar (sport industry) and Dominic Vidoli (neuroscience).
To be eligible for Academic All-Big Ten selection, student-athletes must be on a varsity team, as verified by being on the official squad list as of March 1 for winter sports, who have been enrolled full-time at the institution for a minimum of 12 months and carry a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher.
