COLUBUS, Ohio – Sophomore fullback Sean Penny will miss the remainder of this college football season due to a “stable fracture of the back part of the first cervical vertebrae,” according to Ohio State University head team physician Dr. John Lombardo.
Penny, a 6-2, 215-pound business management major from Youngstown, Ohio and Ursuline High School, suffered the injury during the Buckeyes’ 49-0 win over Toledo Sept. 12.
Penny, a promising young prospect with all the physical tools but who was still learning the fullback position, played in 10 games last year as a true freshman, carrying the ball nine times for a total of 54 yards.
