%^$”When we think about a game, we think the best thing is winning it and we won it. We knew going in that Green Bay was an aggressive team and that they are a good team no one knows much about. I give credit to us that we were able to win it. We are going to have nights like this (with a low scoring game). I think the fact we did so defensively is a credit to our team’s growth and maturity. Jamie (Lewis) showed great leadership on the floor. Everyone struggled in the early part of the game. In the second half, LaToya (Turner) made the inside shots and did a great job of controlling the paint.%^$
%^$”I don’t want to discredit them (Green Bay) because they do get after you. But for us, we have had a lot of the flu this week and exams, which changed our practice. This was a week for us to regroup and try to lose the virus. It wasn’t a reason for our struggles but we didn’t play as well as we could have.%^$
%^$”We love scoring 89 to 90 points a night. I thought despite the low score, we worked for every basket. Green Bay made it a challenge to get to the basket inside. LaToya’s shots inside usually went in with everybody helping her. We had to go back to our roots to win the game.”%^$
%^$Senior guard Jamie Lewis
%^$”This game was difficult because it took too long to get the ball inbounds. We have to credit them (for the pressure). They made us lose our system of taking the ball up the court.%^$
%^$”I think it’s the heart of our team that we could pull out a win like this (and go up 6-0). Tonight we could have laid down and died, but we didn’t.%^$
%^$Junior guard Lauren Shenk
%^$”The biggest thing about this team is that so many people can do so many things. The versatility is the big thing for us in winning these games.%^$
%^$Sophomore guard LaToya Turner
%^$”I was pleased to get through to my teammates. My focus was just to try and do what I can (to help the team).%^$
%^$Wisconsin-Green Bay Head Coach Kevin Borseth
%^$”They (Ohio State) are really good in the open court. Our idea was to not allow the crowd to get into the game. We hoped that we could control it more offensively and get good looks, which I thought we did.%^$
%^$”Sometimes good looks turned into #32 ( La Toya Turner) intimidating a lot of shots because she is so long.%^$
%^$”I think, pound for pound and talent for talent there was no comparison.”
