On opening day of the 1999 NFL season, 30 Ohio State football alumni made the rosters of 20 different NFL teams. Included in this group are members of OSU’s 1999 Big Ten and Sugar Bowl Champions team: Brent Bartholomew, David Boston, Joe Germaine, Andy Katzenmoyer, Joe Montgomery, Damon Moore and Antoine Winfield.

* Jimmie Bell (1996-97) of the San Diego Chargers is on injured reserve, Joey Galloway (1991, 93-94) of the Seattle Seahawks is holding out while his agents attempt to renegotiate his contract, Alonzo Spellman (1989-91) was activated by the Dallas Cowboys after the opening day roster was release, and Keith Byars (1982-85) has since been released by the New York Jets.
