COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 25/25 Ohio State women’s basketball team (9-2, 1-1 Big Ten) resumes play following the holiday break with a New Year’s Eve rivalry matchup at No. 9/7 Michigan (11-1, 2-0 Big Ten). Tip-off is scheduled for 12 p.m. ET. The game will be broadcast live on Big Ten Network (TV login required) and AM 1460.
Tickets for the 2021-22 season in Value City Arena in the Schottenstein Center are now available. Fans can purchase mini plans, single-game tickets and group tickets. All group tickets must be bought in advance by calling 1-800-GO-BUCKS and then selecting option two. - Ohio State was selected 25th in the AP Poll released on Monday and 25th in the USA Today/WBCA Coaches Poll released on Tuesday.
- Ohio State wrapped up its non-conference schedule with a 66-54 win at San Diego State on Dec. 21 before the holiday break.
- The Buckeye defense limited the Aztecs to shooting 32.2 percent from the floor and 23.1 percent from behind the arc as OSU forced multiple scoring droughts.
- Jacy Sheldon led a trio of double-figure scorers on the OSU side with a game-high 19 points. Braxtin Miller tied her season-high 16 points, including a buzzer-beating half-court shot to end the third, while Taylor Mikesell totaled 15 points.
- Michigan enters the game with an 11-1 overall record and a perfect 2-0 in Big Ten games. The Wolverines saw their final non-conference game canceled after a huge overtime win against No. 5 Baylor on Dec. 19.
- The Wolverines beat Wisconsin by a 93-81 mark to open conference play on Dec. 9 and followed that with a 73-61 victory against Minnesota on Dec. 12.
- Naz Hillmon leads Michigan in scoring (20.2 ppg) and on the boards (8.6 rpg), while Leigha Brown also averages double figures (14.6 ppg).
- Ohio State leads 57-14 in the all-time series against Michigan and is 25-9 when facing the Wolverines in Ann Arbor. The teams split last season’s series with each team winning on its home court.
