COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 13 Ohio State field hockey team opens the 2025 season this weekend, heading to Ball State on Friday and hosting Kent State at Buckeye Varsity Field on Sunday.

- The Buckeyes will match up with the Cardinals in Muncie, Ind. at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 29.
- Ohio State welcomes the Golden Flashes to Columbus on Sunday, Aug. 31 at 1:00 p.m. for the home opener.
- The Buckeyes' matchup with Kent State, which will be the Equality Game (open to all) can be streamed on B1G+.
- The Buckeyes came in at No. 13 in the Penn Monto/NFHCA Division I National Preseason Coaches' Poll.
- Katie Fichtner, Anne Marie Krebs and Makenna Webster were all named Big Ten Players to Watch and Zella Bailey, Fichtner, Krebs, Maddie Stevens and Webster were named to the 2025 NFHCA Watchlist, announced on Thursday.
- Webster, who returns for one more year of eligibility, led the Buckeyes last season in goals (16), assists (10) and points (42). Following the 2024 season, she was named an NFHCA Second Team All-American and was also an NFHCA First Team All-Region selection and a First Team All-Big Ten honoree.
- Fichtner was second in goals in 2024 with seven. She added two assists and 16 total points. She was an NFHCA All-Region First Team and All-Big Ten First Team honoree.
- Bailey tallied three goals, and two assists (eight points) and Krebs had one goal and three assists (five points). Krebs was an NFHCA All-Region Second Team selection and an All-Big Ten Second Team honoree.
- Goalkeeper Stevens joins the Buckeyes this season after spending her freshman season at Liberty. She notched a school-record 827 saves at Twin Valley High School.
- The Buckeyes host the Big Ten/ACC Challenge at Buckeye Varsity Field, with games on Friday, Sept. 5 and Sunday, Sept. 7. Ohio State takes on Virginia at 4:00 p.m. on Friday and Syracuse at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday.
