- Ohio State extended its nation-leading winning streak to nine consecutive games with its win over Minnesota Saturday. The series between Ohio State and Minnesota stands at 48-7, with Ohio State winning its 13th straight game over the Golden Gophers.
- Ryan Day's head coaching record is now 75-10, leading the nation with a winning percentage of .882. His Big Ten record now stands at 48-5.
- The Ohio State defense has not allowed a first-half touchdown through five games this season.
- The three points allowed marked the fifth consecutive game Ohio State gave up fewer than 10 points. The last time Ohio State had more than five consecutive games when it held opponents to 10 points or fewer was 1979.

- Jermiah Smith registered his 20th and 21st career receiving touchdowns on six- and nine-yard passes from Sayin in the second and fourth quarters. Smith now has six receiving touchdowns this season to lead the Ohio State receivers. Smith finished the game with 67 yards and seven receptions.
- Smith now stands 10th all-time in career touchdown receptions in Ohio State history.
- Quarterback Lincoln Kienholz recorded his first career touchdown run with a 1-yard plunge in the fourth quarter.
