
Santos and Kuhn Break Program’s 10,000m Record at Raleigh Relays

The Buckeyes put forth another strong showing at the Texas Relays and Raleigh Relays on Friday.
RALEIGH RESULTS | TEXAS RESULTS
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State track & field team continued competition at the Raleigh Relays and Texas Relays on Friday.
Daniella Santos and Andrea Kuhn broke the program record in the 10,000m at the Raleigh Relays, the same record they broke almost one year ago to date. Santos (33:28.94) and Kuhn (33:29.49) ran times more than 17 seconds faster than any other woman in program history.
Faith Bender won the women's discus at the Raleigh Relays with a best throw of 53.90m / 176'10".
RALEIGH RELAYS
- Discus: In addition to Bender's win in the women's competition, Carlos Aviles led the Buckeye men as the men's runner-up (54.53m / 178'11").
- 1500m: Aniya Mosley finished 25th out of nearly 200 runners to lead the Buckeyes. Her time (4:21.11) puts her fifth in program history.
- 3000m steeplechase: Sydney Khosla was the first Buckeye to compete in the event this season, finishing with a time of 11:23.40.
- 5000m: Akemi Von Scherr led the Buckeye women with a time of 16:57.70.
- 10000m: Audrey DeSantis also ran the 10,000m (35:16.77).
TEXAS RELAYS
- 4x100m relay: Both the Buckeye men's and women's squad advanced to Saturday's final. On the men's side, the Buckeyes formed the runner-up team (39.88) with Marcus Brown Jr., Braxton Brann, Armani Modeste and Nazzio John. On the women's side, Fatouma Conde, Nya Bussey, Sydney Bryant and Leah Bertrand had the fifth-fastest prelims time (44.83).
- High jump: Reign Winston finished fifth by clearing 2.11m / 6'11".
- 4x400m relay: Both the OSU men's and women's relay squad also qualified for the final. The Buckeye women (Columba Effiong, Conde, Chanler Robinson and Bryannia Murphy) were sixth (3:39.92) in the prelims, while the Buckeye men (Antonio Hanson, Armani Modeste, Noah Carmichael, Alex Kenish) were seventh.
- 400m hurdles: Chanler Robinson was sixth in the finals (59.03).
- 100m hurdles: Janela Spencer earned a spot in Saturday's final by finishing sixth in the prelims (13.20).
- 100m: Bertrand was 0.01 seconds away from qualifying for the finals as she was 10th (11.26) in the prelims. In the timed finals competition, Conde was eighth (11.60).
- Triple jump: Atinuke Shittu rounded out the top-10 with a best mark of 12.00m / 39'4.5".
