Chase Earns Second at Findlay Open

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Carter Chase led the Buckeyes with a second-place finish in the Open 165 Bracket at the Findlay Open Saturday at the Koehler Fitness and Recreation Complex in Findlay, Ohio.

Chase, a redshirt freshman, advanced to the title match with five-consecutive victories before a loss in sudden victory to Dillon Walker of Mercyhurst, 4-1.

Ohio State also took third at 125 and 149.

Freshman Peyton Fenton won his final match for third place by technical fall (20-4) over Graham Shore of Findlay. At 149, Klay Reeves, a redshirt senior wrestling unattached, won by forfeit in the third-place match over Christian Small of Lake Erie College.

The Buckeyes return to dual competition Sunday with an 11 a.m. match at Columbia (ESPN+) followed by a 4 p.m. battle at Hofstra (YouTube).
