School-Record Four Buckeyes Named AVCA All-Americans – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Four members of the Ohio State men’s volleyball team received 2016 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-America recognition on Monday (May 2). First Team selections, Miles Johnson and Nicolas Szerszen, are joined by Christy Blough (Second Team) and honorable mention Gabriel Domecus.
Thirty different Buckeyes have now been named All-Americans since Doug Beal became the first back in 1969. The four 2016 selections are tied for the most in the country, even with BYU and Stanford.
All four Buckeyes are ranked inside the NCAA Top-25 in at least one statistical category:
Miles Johnson — .40 aces/set (13th nationally), 4.36 points/set (14th), 3.65 kills/set (17th), .327 attacking efficiency (22nd)
Nicolas Szerszen — 5.16 points/set (3rd), 4.37 kills/set (5th), .48 aces/set (5th), .402 attacking efficiency (10th)
Christy Blough — 11.20 assists/set (2nd)
Gabriel Domecus — 2.13 digs/set (21st)
