No. 6 Ohio State Falls in Tri Meet to Oklahoma, Iowa – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The sixth-ranked Ohio State men’s gymnastics team totaled a team score of 422.600 to finish third in a tri meet with No.1 Oklahoma and No. 9 Iowa Sunday afternoon at Carver-Hawkeye Arena in Iowa City, Iowa.
The top-ranked Sooners won all six events as a team on their way to a final score of 440.850. The host Hawkeyes finished with a team score of 428.450.
The Buckeyes’ top team score of the day came on vault, where a second-place routine from freshman Alexander Wilson (14.750) helped the Scarlet and Gray tally a 72.550 aggregate total. Senior Larry Mayer, ranked fourth nationally in the event, tied for fifth with a 14.600, while freshman Seth Delbridge was seventh with a personal-best 14.550.
Ohio State set season-best team totals on rings and floor exercise, scoring 71.850 and 71.500, respectively. Senior Danny Steiner used a season-best 14.950 to take third overall on floor exercise, while senior Drew Moling led the way on rings with a 14.900, finishing sixth overall.
Senior Alex Nork continued his impressive start to the season on pommel horse, placing third with a 14.800. Junior Jake Martin made his season debut with a sixth-place score of 14.300, while freshman Cody Teaney turned in a personal-best 14.200 for seventh place. The team recorded a total of 70.000.
OSU faltered on high bar and parallel bars. Despite a third-place performance on high bar from Martin, the Buckeyes, leading the nation with a two-meet average score of 72.750, turned in a season-low 69.350. Nork led Ohio State on parallel bars with an eighth-place score of 14.250 as the team compiled a season-low 67.350.
