Setting the Scene
Ohio State looks for a second-straight win as it hosts SEC-foeGeorgia on Wednesday, Nov. 19.
Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. from Value City Arena.
The Buckeyes (1-1) are coming off a record-setting performance inits 113-97 victory over St. Francis on Sunday.
Georgia has won each of its first two games this season, picking upwins over Morgan State and TCU.
The game will be streamed live online for a fee on BTN Plus.

Last Time Out
The Buckeyes put up record numbers in a 113-97 victory over St.Francis on Sunday at Value City Arena.
Guard Ameryst Alston tallied a career-high 39 points to go along withnine rebounds and six assists. Her 39 points were tied for thethird-most points by a Buckeye in school-history.
Freshman Kelsey Mitchell continued her hot start by scoring 28 pointsand dishing-out six assists.
Fellow freshman Alexa Hart nearly posted a triple-double as she had 18 points,11 rebounds and eight blocks. Her eight blocks were a VCArecord.
The Buckeyes’ 113 points was a VCA record and it was thefourth-most points ever in a game by an Ohio State squad.
St. Francis’ three-point shooting and second chance points allowedit to hang around but a late 11-3 run gave the Buckeyes somebreathing room with four minutes to play.
A Quick Look At Georgia
The Bulldogs have opened the season with a pair of victoriesover Morgan State and TCU.
Guard Tiara Griffin has made five three-pointers and is averaging15.5 points through the first two games.
Georgia got a head start on the season, taking a 10-day trip toItaly in early August and winning its three games on the trip by anaverage of 34 points.
Head coach Andy Landers was the first and still is the onlyfull-time women’s basketball head coach at UGA.
Landers is in his 36th season at the helm of the program and holdsan 825-275 (.750) at Georgia. This is his 40th year in coaching andhe has 907 wins in his career.
Series History vs. Georgia
Wednesday’s matchup will be the 10th meeting all-time betweenthe two schools.
Georgia has dominated the series, which dates back to 1984, winningseven of the previous nine matchups.
This will be the fourth game in Columbus with Georgia leading 2-1in the first three games.
The Buckeyes won back-to-back games in 1991 and 1992, once inAthens and once in Columbus.
Last season in Athens, the Buckeye offense went cold in the secondhalf, shooting just 14 percent, and falling in a close game to theNo. 22 Bulldogs 53-49.
Last Year Against Georgia
Ohio State dropped its first game of the season, 53-49, at No.22 Georgia on Nov. 17, 2013, at the Stegeman Coliseum inAthens.
The Buckeyes led 33-29 at the break, but a 14-2 run by the LadyDogs to start the second half helped pave the way for thevictory.
Ohio State had its chances to pull off the upset, but shot just 14percent from the field in the second half and 6 of 11 from theline.
Ameryst Alston scored a team-high 22 points for the Buckeyes.She scored 16 in the first half, hitting her fourth three-pointerof the half at the buzzer to give Ohio State a 33-29 advantage. Shewas 6 of 9 shooting in the first 20 minutes as the Buckeyes hit sixthree-point field goals overall.
But the second half was a different story as the Buckeyes had ahard time getting anything to fall.
Their defense kept them within striking distance, holding Georgiato 26 percent shooting in the second half. But it was all the LadyDogs needed as Ohio State hit just one field goal over the final6:45.
Darryce Moore and Amy Scullion added six points each. Moore and Ashley Adams each grabbed 10 rebounds for the Buckeyes.
The Beat Goes On
Junior Ameryst Alston had a great finish to her sophomore year and itlooks like she didn’t miss a beat in the offseason.
She scored a team-high 27 against Virginia and then lit-up St.Francis for 39 points on 15-of-18 from the floor and 4-of-5 frombeyond the arc.
Her 39 points are tied for the third-most in a single-game by aBuckeye in school-history.
It was the sixth 30-point game of her career.
Dating back to last season, she has made 19 three-pointers in herlast five.
Alston has scored a combined 66 points in the first two games andis shooting over 67 percent from the floor.
Good Start For Mitchell
Freshman Kelsey Mitchell admitted to being a little nervous in her firstcollegiate game at Virginia on Nov. 14.
After a slow start that night, she finished with 26 points, fourassists and a pair of rebounds.
In her second game against St. Francis, she scored 28 points,dished-out six assists, had five steals and was 7-of-7 from thefree throw line.
Not In Her House
Freshman Alexa Hart dominated the game inside against St. Francis.
She not only notched her first-career double-double with 18 pointsand a game-high 11 rebounds, she swatted eight shots.
Her eight blocks were tied for the fourth-most in a single-game byBuckeye in school-history.
B1G Player of the Week
On the heels of her career-high 39 points against St. Francis,junior Ameryst Alston was named Big Ten Player of the Week on Nov.17.
Alston averaged 33 points, 6.5 rebounds and shot over 67 percentfrom the floor in the first two games of the year.
She made nine three-pointers in the two games and also dished-outnine assists.
This was Alston’s second Big Ten weekly honor as she also picked-upthe award on Jan. 13 last season.
